Charles Faison is a 74 year-old United States Army veteran who has lived in his home for 50 years. A Baltimore native, Mr. Faison moved to Turner Station when he was 10. Many of his peers in Turner Station joined the military after high school, so he also decided to enlist in the army at the age of 19. He worked in ordinance repairing military equipment and as a cook, and in 1963 he was transferred from active duty to reserve. Because of his love for the military, he served in the reserves for 30 years and was ranked as sergeant first class at the time of his discharge. After leaving active duty, Mr. Faison found a job at General Motors where he worked for 40 years until he became sick.
